Hi! I’m Josie, an artist from New York living the dream of making a career out of what I LOVE! I have always been a creative soul, whether drawing, painting, teaching children art, face painting, and now balloons!
I have been an artist for what seems forever. In my twenties, I created art on canvas and had my pieces displayed in galleries and various art shows. When I was not working on my art, I was immersed in the Children’s Museum field as a leader in Museum Education and Management for over 25 years. The joy of working with children and inspiring future artists was my calling. I am known for my patience and dedication in making a difference in the lives of young children.
In 2014, I started Josephine DaCosta Art & Design as a part-time gig, but when the pandemic happened and everything shut down I decided to invest in making my side hustle into a real business.
Being primarily a Face Painter, I had to pause for the pandemic so I turned to balloons! It was the best decision I ever made!
The world had stopped but not life’s special moments and balloons say PARTY!
I put all my energy in developing my Balloon Artistry skills to go ABOVE and BEYOND than just simple balloon twisting.
I put extra detail to all my balloon creations so that I get the those amazing reactions that make what I do all worthwhile. For each SMILE I create makes me love what I do even more!
